Individual therapy is provided as a way to help clients respond to everyday challenges. The emphasis is placed on creating a safe and nonjudgmental environment. Principals from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy are implemented. Parent Consultation is provided in order to address issues related to challenging behaviors and academic performance. Psychoeducational and neuropsychological testing is offered to assess a variety of symptoms and challenges.
When assessing individual needs, the focus is on increasing the awareness of how learning impacts academic performance through providing psychoeducational assessments, neuropsychological evaluations, and/or ADHD assessments. These assessments help to provide recommendations to improve academic performance. In addition to these testing services, post-secondary transitioning and vocational planning are also offered.
Dr. Villarose's background in School Neuropsychology helps to provide clients and parents with an in-depth understanding of how the underlying neurocognitive processes, such as attention, memory, and executive functioning, can impact learning.
Dr. Villarose has years of experience working as a school psychologist in brick-and-mortar and cyber schools. In addition to being a skilled evaluator, he has trained and supervised pre-doctoral and post-doctoral interns in school and clinical settings. As a consultant, Dr. Villarose places an emphasis on positively communicating and collaborating with schools, parents, and students.
Evaluations can either be conducted in person or administered virtually using the global Pearson platform.
